Rockingham Mermaids

Our guest speaker last night was Made Delaveris from the Rockingham Mermaids.
The Rockingham Rotary Club donated funds earlier in the year to assist Made’s group and invited her back to tell us about the Mermaids.
The Mermaids were established in 1976 and they currently have 25 members, they are a swim club whose members are single older ladies, ladies caring for spouses and the occasional fella.
The club is more than just a swim club as it provides friendship and support for their members and ensures that members are there to assist in times of need.
Made was very complementary of the Rockingham Council who had assisted the group in access to the beach and facilities to support their members who had mobility issues getting to and from the water.
Made also gave the club an insight into her time as a Rotarian where she was the first female member of the Rotary Club of Rockingham.
The Winner of this month's Good Egg Award was Tyler Nicholls.

Changeover Dinner 2020

Rotary Club of Rockingham - 2020 Changeover Dinner

Outgoing President Beth Philipps passed the baton on to Incoming President Rob Miller and his new team.

The night at the Rockingham RSL was well attended with 48 members, partners and guests.

It was a unique event given the COVID-19 restrictions in place but we didn't let that put a damper on the event.

Rotary Club of Rockingham Grant Night 2019

Rotary Club of Rockingham (Inc.)
Annual Community Grants night April 2019
The 2019 Rotary Club of Rockingham’s grant night was a great success and the club was able to donate $40,000 to nineteen worthy local organisations.
We received 43 applications totaling more than $250,000 and so it was a difficult task for the Community Committee to select the successful applicants.
Thank you to everyone who came for the evening, we had a great night and it was enjoyed by all.
It is through the generosity of the local community who come to the Rockingham Rotary Mart on a Sunday that our club is able fund such worthy local organisations.
The club asked the recipients to spend it in our region and to remember that shop local, buy local is the Rockingham way.
